Yinspiration
About Founder
and the world’s first 1000-hour Diploma in Yin Yoga.
Widely dubbed as the “Queen of Props & Sequencing”, Jo has created hundreds of yin yoga variations and sequences in the past two decades through the ingenious use of props. These variations are showcased in her Book of Yin and have since been widely practised by the worldwide yin community.
Starting her yoga journey since 2000, Jo is the first-generation yin yoga teachers trained by Yin Yoga creators Paul and Suzee Grilley. Serving as their Senior Lead Assistant since 2009, she has spent thousands of hours in apprenticeship with them over the past two decades. She was personally mentored by them to teach their entire yin yoga and anatomy training curriculum. Jo has taught more than 20,000 public yoga classes since 2003 and conducted 200+ yoga teacher trainings worldwide. She has trained more than 10,000 yoga teachers and trainers in 20 countries all over Asia Pacific, Middle East, Europe and USA.
Brought up solely with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from childhood by her Chinese Taoist parents, all of Jo’s initial induction into TCM was based on experiential knowledge passed down from generations in her Chinese family. She learnt Guasha and Cupping treatments from her grandparents and Chinese herbal medicine from her mother. To add theoretical knowledge to her practical experience, Jo went on to study at the Singapore College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Jo is a certified TCM Tuina Massage Therapist.

Our Team
Dominik Trznadel
It was in China that Dominik discovered yin yoga, a practice that resonated deeply with his minimalist approach to life. He completed his first teacher training under the guidance of Jo Phee in Shanghai, where he found yin yoga to be the perfect practice for inner connection and meaningful engagement with others.
Dominik spent over seven years in China, fully dedicating himself to the study of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which now forms the core of his yin yoga practice. With a background in social anthropology, meditation, and extensive travel to over 30 countries, Dominik brings a rich tapestry of life experience to his teaching.
Since 2016, Dominik has embraced the role of teacher trainer, while remaining a lifelong student of the practice. As a Senior Assistant to Jo Phee, he has accumulated over 1,000 hours of teacher training experience with the Yinspiration Founder, both as a student and teaching assistant. He is an E-RYT 500 trainer and a registered YACEP, with a passion for sharing the transformative power of yin yoga and TCM. To date, Dominik has trained and inspired hundreds of students, guiding them on their own journeys of self-discovery and healing through yin yoga.

Introduced to Yin Yoga in 2014, Fran had a transformative experience in her initial class that ignited her passion for the practice and motivated her to pursue teaching.
She completed her 200-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training in Bali in 2015 under the guidance of Jo Phee and Joe Barnett. Since 2017, Fran has been assisting Jo Phee in the 60-hour modules and the 200-hour Teacher Training, rising to the role of senior assistant and Yinspiration Trainer.
Fran’s teaching is profoundly influenced by Traditional Chinese Medicine, fascia science, energy work, and mindfulness practices. She aims to empower students with a thorough understanding of anatomy and energetic principles, equipping them to become their own best teachers.
Her commitment to continuous learning is evident in her extensive educational pursuits. She attended Stanford Summer School in 2023, where she completed her second human cadaver dissection, and participated in the Padua Fascia Winter School to deepen her expertise in fascia science. Fran has also studied Yoga Philosophy with Yin Yoga founder Paul Grilley and furthered her knowledge with Sarah Powers. Currently, she is in her second year of specialized training in energy medicine, focusing on meridian and Five Element theory and practice.
Her development as a teacher is significantly shaped by the frequent opportunities to assist and revisit material with her mentor, Jo Phee, whose profound influence, and guidance have been pivotal in her professional growth.
Fran resides in Berlin, Germany, and divides her time between Berlin and the Canary Islands, Spain.
